Being a homeowner means there is always another project to tackle. Some more exciting than others. Of course, the projects that excite us tend to get done first and completed more quickly. But, here are 5 home improvement projects you should stop putting off and tackle right now.

1. Repaint your baseboards – You may be thinking, “Does this even need to be done?” And yes, if you have never done this, it’s probably time for you to tackle this one. Baseboards get beaten up over time and will be dinged and scratched and stained after a while, a fresh coat of paint will make them look good as new. We have a dog that sometimes likes to chew baseboards so, some had to be replaced or puttied and sanded before being painted.
2. Change out outlet covers – Since we moved in, some of these had paint on them (apparently they never took them off) or were just dingy. We finally decided to change them out and went with screwless covers. They look so much cleaner, I wish we had done this sooner! So don’t wait, change them out!
4. Put the final touches on a room – We finally put the finishing touches on our guest bath: added a simple shelf and changed out the curtain, accent towels and bath accessories a few months ago. Next on the list, some artwork to finish up my bathroom. Pick a room and start searching for the perfect final piece(s). Don’t worry, by the time you finish, you’ll be ready to redo the first room!
5. Organizing – No matter how organized we are, there is always at least one area that can use some extra organization. Our most recent one? The office closet. (Our third major reorganization of this closet) Sometimes, it’s as simple as finding the right organizers to work with what you have and give everything a place.
