Rainy Day Activities

Summer is time for fun and sun. But, in Florida, there’s also chances of rain and showers. Being stuck indoors with kids who get bored easily is no fun…for you or them! Here’s a few creative ways to entertain the kids and get some of their energy out. I love these ideas because they are easily stored away when not in use and don’t make a big mess when you use them. Win-win!

Window Markers

These window markers are a blast for rainy days and can spruce up any ol’ sliding glass door. Use them to decorate for a party or just to doodle! Window markers will keep the kids busy and leave a beautiful masterpiece.

Foldaway Treehouse

I saw this massive treehouse tower when we went to a friend’s house for dinner. Well, that’s not true. My SON spotted this thing immediately when we walked into my friend’s house for dinner. I don’t blame him, this treehouse is awesome! Best part? It folds away for easy storage. There’s also an option for a pirate ship.

Play Doh Play ‘N Store

This fun and easy table allows kiddos to store their Play Doh, stencils and tools while they’re not playing. And it’s a great table to set up when it’s Play Doh time! Perfect for a rainy day. This set comes with a variety of colors and creative molds for imaginative play!

Lava Stepping Stones

Yes, the floor is LAVA! And only these stepping stones can help you get across the floor to safety. Or, at least you can pretend! These lava-color inspired stepping stones are great for indoor time to practice motor coordination and balance! They are non-skid and safe for kids with rounded edges and silicone material. They stack for easy storage when you’re all done!

Poke-A-Dot Books

Melissa and Doug is one of my favorite brands to support. Their products are sustainable and ensure 100% no screen time. These interactive books are no different. With themes like ocean, farm and alphabet, each book is unique in it’s educational message. The “dots” are little buttons kids can press on each page and make different sounds. A great fine motor and literacy activity for a rainy day!
