Summer seems to be passing so quickly this year, I think we’re all trying to soak it up as much as possible to make up for lost time from last year!
So, while some of us travel, others enjoy attending summer camp, or some time with family and friends or even working on completing summer school projects! But there is one more thing that you can do before it’s all over, and we’re back to school and work and normal routines, & that’s enjoy some leisure reading.
Below I have attached several “Summer Reads” with a small description on what each book is about. These titles are meant to target kids of all ages and levels, and can be checked out from your local public library. Request them online and pick them up at your nearest branch, or have them delivered to your home using this free home delivery service. It makes it quick and easy, & gives you the ability to enjoy reading new books in the comfort of your home, car, or even while traveling. You can also click the images for a link to purchase from Amazon.
The public library also has their Summer Reading Challenge which goes through August 7th 2021. It is all done online and all you have to do is record and submit all your readings through their system here. Parents keep track for their little ones and log in any book they read with their child. Every 30 minutes of reading earns you a ticket to enter and win all kinds of prizes, so don’t lose out on this opportunity & sign up today!
Another amazing program is The Children’s Trust Book Club. You can sign up here, and request a book for every child 5 and under in your household. Every month they will receive a book in English or in Spanish (you choose) with a guide for parents with activities, information and suggestions on how to interact with the book. This is an amazing way to expose your children to all types of literature as they grow and develop, and a great way to grow your home library as well.
Happy Reading & Enjoy the rest of your summer! (Feel free to follow me at @raisingroseandrae for more book suggestions and reviews!)
