The SoFlo Moms The SoFlo Moms is looking to add contributors to our writing team in our contributor call!
We are always searching for local moms passionate about South Florida who are interested in sharing their stories and experiences. We want to share stories from a diverse group of women who represent the amazing diversity in our community. That includes moms in all stages of the motherhood journey – moms of young children, moms with older children, adult “children” and grandchildren, women longing to become moms but struggling with infertility, married moms, single moms, moms who fostered or adopted, special needs moms, and basically EVERY kind of mom we have here in South Florida.

What do I get out of this?
- A community of local moms to connect with who are passionate about where we live and empowering other moms.
- Your professional photo and bio on The SoFlo Moms team page with links to your business, personal blog, and/or social media handles if you choose to share them.
- Shout-outs and promotion for you and your brand. Helping moms in our community is what The SoFlo Moms is all about! As long as your product or service is a good fit (meaning it is of use to local moms and families and compliments our mission) we would love to discuss promotion opportunities.
- Free and/or discounted event admission for The SoFlo Moms events. We are working to offer more and more in-person events now that things are opening back up!
- The opportunity to test out products and/or services as they become available to The SoFlo Moms team.
- A commission for helping us build our brand. Many of you already have great relationships with local brands and businesses that would be a great fit for our community. For any leads that you ‘connect’ us to, we will offer a 10% commission to thank you.
- Promoting causes close to your heart. Everyone has causes that are important to them and we would like to share those important to our contributors with our readers. Therefore, we will be offering each of our contributors a chance to promote a non-profit of their choosing (that supports families or children in some capacity) once a year by writing a post about what they do. We will also promote the non-profit on all of our social media channels and provide a free sidebar advertisement for up to 1 month. *This is offered on a first come, first serve basis
- Access to our private contributors Facebook group.
- Basic WordPress training and support.
What is expected of me?
- One original, unique blog post per month (not previously posted on another site) between 400-2,000 words with a corresponding high-resolution image (can be a stock photo).
- One original short format post per month – such as a microblog (under 300 words) or recipe (including ingredients and instructions) also with corresponding high-resolution image(s).
- An active social media presence on Facebook and Instagram (for team communication and social engagement).
- 2 relevant tagged photos/story content that The SoFlo Moms can share each month.
- A 12-month voluntary commitment
FAQ
Do I need to be a writer/blogger?
No. We are looking for local moms who are passionate and eager to share their stories and experiences with other moms in their community. What you need is a unique perspective on motherhood, a willingness to write about it and eagerness to connect and grow your support system.
What do I write about?
Parenting in the South Florida area. We are looking for localized content on activities you enjoy doing, businesses you love to visit, overcoming milestones with your children and generally parenting, partnership and friendship.
Do you give me topics or do I choose my own?
We curate an editorial calendar each month and will share this with you along with topic ideas as a guide however, you are free to write about anything you choose so long as it is relevant to The SoFlo Moms and our audience.
How do I apply?

Each application must include a unique, original writing sample. This should be between 400-800 words, well-edited, and relevant to parenting and/or South Florida.
