Our everyday lives have turned upside down and, in turn our beauty routines have definitely taken a turn. No professional manicures, no hair stylists or estheticians, also nowhere to really go. But, our mental well-being and our mood can be drastically affected by taking care of ourselves (or by not doing so). Do I mean getting up and doing full make-up and hair daily? Of course not! I am definitely not doing that. But, I have been making sure to take this little extra time at home to take better care of my hair and skin. Also, keeping up appearances for all of my Zoom and Microsoft Teams happy hours! So, here are some of the products I have deemed ‘beauty must-haves’ that have been keeping me feeling put together from head to toe during this quarantine.

L’Oreal Paris Elvive Color Vibrancy Repair & Protect Balm – This works great and is under $10! Leaves my hair soft and helps keep your hair healthy and color vibrant from hair color damage.

Fanola No Yellow Mask – I bought this in February and have tried to use it at least once a month. I regularly only get my hair colored every 3-4 months (sometimes longer – THANK YOU BALAYAGE!) but I tend to get brassiness into my hair so this purple hair mask helps to keep it under control. The added bonus was that I needed to buy plastic gloves for this so I had a box before they got so hard to find. Anyway, it is recommended to use hair dye gloves to apply and wash this out.

Hask Purifying Dry Shampoo – This is definitely a must! We have all had days/weeks where things get a bit crazy and there is just not enough time to wash our hair as much as we’d like and have had to go an extra day or 2 in between washes. This affordable dry shampoo (under $5) does the trick to keep hair from getting greasy until your next wash.

OleHenriksen Banana Bright Eye Cream – Under eye bags a problem? I started using this after my son was born (helllooo new mom sleep deprivation) this has definitely helped keep those dark circles at bay and keep me looking refreshed – even when I’m a little less than. **This is not the cheapest eye cream, but it works and lasts a long time as you use very little at a time. Also, I originally purchased from Sephora but am linking to Amazon right now because Sephora is delaying their shipments.

Thayers Witch Hazel Alcohol-Free Toner – Rose Petal – My sister actually bought me this months ago, but I love that it makes me feel clean and refreshed for the day. I use it both day and night. The rose petal scent smells great but there are others I have not tried.

Dead Sea Mud Mask for Face & Body – Also a product I have been using for a while but, now have tried to make it to the recommended 2x a week usage (I previously struggled with even the 1x a week). I am not successful every week but it is a 10-minute mask so not too time consuming.

Neutrogena Healthy Skin Anti-Aging Perfector – Tinted Facial Moisturizer with SPF 20 – It has been at least a month since I have done my full daily make-up routine and not looking like that may be changing any time soon. I always use a tinted moisturizer as part of my daily routine. It evens my skin tone and has SPF so win-win. I have tried several ranging in price and this one is under $15 and is lightweight and is not oily. I have already oily skin so oil based moisturizers have made me feel like I need to use powder on top, this one does not. My current make-up routine stops here. If I plan to take pictures to post or have a Zoom call, this does the trick to make me feel put together and fresh.

Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Nail Color – I personally hate looking down at bare nails. It makes me feel like I’m missing something. That being said, until now, I had not done my own nails in probably 10+ years. So, when this all happened, I added salon brand nail polish to my curbside pick-up order, soaked off my grown out gel polish, and told my husband he was in charge of the baby for the next hour. They came out awful. I forgot how long it takes regular nails to fully dry! They looked ok when I first finished, but were full of dents and dings before the day was over. So, take 2. I found the Insta-Dri color. Game changer! One coat, no top/base, and dries in 60 seconds! Ok, so on the light color, I actually used 2 coats. The metallic/Shimmer color was perfect with 1 coat. But, 60 seconds with the blow dryer and they were dry to the touch and within 10 minutes fully dry. Now, my mani/pedi may not be salon quality but it is definitely making the cut for quarantine!

Hawaiian Tropic After Sun Moisturizer – During quarantine, we have been spending a lot of time by the pool. And while I am very good about my sunscreen application, sometimes, I wait a little too long to reapply or just have dry skin from a lot of sun exposure. This soothes my skin and makes sure that a little redness never turns into dry/peeling skin. Also, unlike most aloe gels, this is a lotion so it will not leave you feeling sticky but soft and moisturized.

Bath & Body Works 24HR Moisture Ultra Shea Body Cream – This smells amazing! Even my husband loves when I put this on every night. I was struggling to find a lotion that really moisturized and this one does the trick. No more dry feet or hands! And, no greasy feeling at all, just soft feeling skin.

Have you used any of these products? Is there a vital part to your quarantine beauty routine that I’m missing here? Let me know in the comments!
