What I Love About Emily In Paris (S.3) And Why You’ll Be Binge Watching Soon!

It’s been a long time since Emily in Paris creator and executive producer, Darren Star gave us Sex and the City, but finally we have something that will fill that void. Emily in Paris is a comedy-drama about a woman named Emily who has to move to Paris for a once-in-a-lifetime job opportunity.

Emily’s Fashion Evolution

I love the fashion evolution of Emily, who is a marketing executive with a stylish sense of fashion. Each season, she’s dressed in fresh and unique outfits that showcase her personality. She didn’t start glamorous. But, Season 3 reveals a chic haircut with bangs which embraces my spirit animal.

Don’t forget Mindy’s dominatrix outfit to captivate Nicolas (her love interest). Mindy sports some FIREEEE performer outfits this season as she breaks out into her star role as SOLO ACT singing in a local club.

Friendships

A great part of what makes Emily in Paris so addictive is the show’s focus on friendship and sisterhood. The characters are all very close, and they have all worked together on projects before. There are lots of scenes where they’re sitting around talking or working together, but they do it in a way that feels natural and fun to watch.

The Emily/Mindy friendship reminds me so much of the Carrie/Miranda friendship from Sex and The City. Both friendships have their ups and downs but ultimately develop into something special. They are bff goals.

The drama-filled friendship with Camille is almost as entertaining as Emily’s relationship with her French colleagues at Savoir! Camille’s boyfriend (local chef and Emily’s cute neighbor) creates some tension between Camille and Emily when they find out they’re dating the same man. But don’t worry, they work it all out, unlike Emily’s relationship with French co-worker, Sylvie, who despises her American businesswoman counterpart.

Risque Business

Watching Emily in Paris for the plot is a little like eating a cupcake for the frosting. Sure, it’s delicious and sweet and satisfying, but it’s not really what you came to the party for. The real treat here is watching female leads discuss their sex lives with candor—and with each other! Season 1 features a hilarious and all-too-relateable cyber sex scene between Emily and her boyfriend, who FaceTime over sexy time to keep their romance alive even miles away.

To be sure, there are some scenes that will make you blush no matter how many times you’ve seen them—but if you’re looking for a new show that will leave you smiling (and maybe even laughing), then this is one of the best places where your search can begin!

Emily discovers many love triangles, drama, marriages, and more in her short time in Paris. But, let’s not forget the real reason we watch this show: The Plot. Are you Team Alfie or Team Gabriel?

A new show from the creator of Sex in the City, this show is a great binge!

Even if you don’t love fashion, you’ll still be hooked on this show. It’s funny, it’s honest and it has a lot of great moments that are worth watching. If you’ve ever wanted to see what life is like as “The American in Paris”, then this is the show for you!
